We needed a break. We needed some time to each other. We needed to laugh at grown up jokes and have adult conversations. We talked about the kids for maybe 30 minutes on the drive there and then i made us promise we wouldn't just talk about the kids. They were fine. I did call them every evening to hear about their day. But this trip, was for us. We ventured down to San Antonio for 3 nights and 4 days. Did a lot of eating out. A little bit of drinking and a little bit of shopping and a lot of sight seeing. We went for a 12 hour concert that was on Saturday. We had a blast. It felt good to get away. It had been 5 years since our last solo vacation. And we made a promise to each other to do this once a year. Now that the kids are getting older we will do this. It gave us time to reconnect with each other and just be. No interruptions. No kid bickering. No extra luggage and less bathroom breaks! I cant wait until our next vacation together....we alre
