Another one....?

It just wont stop. All the maroon. All the Boomer Sooner. The OU craze. I figured she would be on my side. NOPE! :) HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

POOLTIME in the SUMMERTIME

We spent alot of time at the pool this past summer. It was HOT . The pool was free. And it was a great way for us to spend some great time together. This year Jaxon started out afraid of the water. By afraid I mean timid. That kid was born a water baby. By the last visit to the pool (with arm floaties on) he was jumping into the 8ft, dogie paddling, jumping into dads arms, and yelling CANNONBALL !! Jenny is another one who is a little water dog. She loves being outdoors. We went to the pool as often as we could the week she was here. And every visit to the pool was about 6 hours long :) There he is dogie paddling his way to dad. Just him and the water. So relaxed! He would even jump in with Jenny a few times but only if he could count to 3 and yell CANNONBALL !!!!

Best Friends

Everyone has that one best friend. The person who knows you inside and out. These guys have known each other since before they were born. They are 3 weeks apart. We are good friends with Marks parents, so its just a given these boys will have a solid foundation for a lifelong friendship. They play great together. Until one has a toy that the other wants all of a sudden. Then a little fight breaks out. They get over it. They are best friends again. See girls cant do that. They fight over stupid stuff like boys and whos skirt is cuter. Not boys, they fight over trucks and who throws the most dirt and whos daddy is stronger. Wait! Boys fight over girls? Do they? NOOO. Not these boys. Yet anyway, I am told there will come a day. But the mommas of said boys will just ignore that part. They are almost 3 years old. They have a great bond. They like each other. They already have a handshake. They have daddys who are best friends. They have mommas who like to make fun of their daddys and hope

Pullin weeds mom!

Our yard this year....well lets just say our fenced in dirt....that would be more accurate. We inherited a lot of weeds with the back yard when we moved in 3 summers ago. They are stubborn. To say the least. Everyday when Josh would come home he would pull weeds. So Jaxon took it upon himself to learn and want to do what daddy was doing. He would bring me his flip-flops and say....Here mom...I'm gonna pull weeds! So he would do just that. Put on his flip-flops. Run outside. And pull weeds. All spring long. Until it was miserably hot anyway!

A fish fry and home from Africa...

My uncle was home for a 2 week R&R in July. Hes been in Africa pretty much all year. He claims he has adapted to their "way of living". Im not to sure about that. :) Although he did decide to do an African batter style fish fry instead of a traditional family BBQ. That was a differant twist on a lovely Sunday! This is both of my uncles working the fryer. We had catfish, fried oysters, and homemade hushpuppies. I could handle all that every now and again!! It was very good! The family. That I love dearly. I love this picture. I love the time we spend together. The jokes. The laughter. The way we can forget our worries and troubles and stresses and just be. Together.

MMM MMM MMM

Make french toast like normal. I however put cinnamon in my egg batter. Cut up bacon. Fry. Drain. Put in pan. Heat oven to 350. Cut the french toast into bite six pieces. I used a pizza cutter. its easier that way. Throw the bites on with the bacon bits. Mix together. Bake for 15 minutes. Drizzle with syrup and TA DA! An awesome take on a great breakfast. No one fights over the last piece of bacon and there's plenty of French toast to go around!! YUMMY STUFF!!

Momma needs some TLC

Gross. Even grosser. I have been putting off my well being for a loooong time now. I think its just one of those things that when you become a mom all of the "me" stuff gets put on the back burner. I am very hard on my feet daily. I need to stop griping about it and just start treating myself to bi-weekly, hell even monthly pedis. Maybe it will make me an even better mommy. Cause when mommas not happy....ain't nobody happy!!

Monday Night Football. (preseason)

This household likes football. Scratch that we love football. Football (to us) means: fall, lazy Saturdays , betting each other who will win, having our favorite teams, staying up late on Sundays , Mondays and Thursdays . It means we have a shot at having our own little football player one day. He stayed up late one Monday night and watched the rest of a game with me and daddy. He loves it! Tonight is the start of the season so i guess i should order some pizza!! GO SAINTS!!

Last days of Summer

We always try and enjoy a nice weekend BBQ. Just us. no extended family no friends. Like I said in the previous post it has been too hot to do it as often as we like. With the temps finally cooling down on the last weekend of summer....we took advantage. The girls and the dogs. Java is still in puppy mode. Although she could pass as a full size dog shes still a wittle puppy...yea yea she is. Sorry....sometimes i think i am always talking to her. As we wind down on the weekends and move towards fall i will never forget this hot hot summer. We drank alot of Gatorade and cool water. we went to the pool alot. I turned all his old shirts into muscle shirts. We will get to spend more time out doors and hopefully start doing some yard work that we had to put off. As much as i love summer....i am honestly glad this one is coming to an end.

When naps attack

We have experienced one of the hottest summers in history. Well that i can remember anyway. you wouldn't think it was 110 degrees outside the day i took this photo in the middle of June, but it was. its just the air conditioner was on high power and being cool and still long enough makes for a great nap. The days following. the same thing happened. it was 112 that day and we couldn't even play outside most of July. the house stayed very cool and dark. the electric bill was thru the roof, but hey....it was a HOT summer! It was literally the dog days of summer all summer long. As we say goodbye to summer today we went from one extreme to another. 99 degrees just last Friday to a chilly 76 today. And the good thing is...we can play outside. we can expect a lower electric bill. and we can say....we survived the hottest summer in our history! HAPPY LABOR DAY!

Graduating Class of '11

So my youngest step daughter Jessie graduated from her kindergarten class this last Spring. She makes my heart melt with her unique personality. She is her and only her. Out of all the kids walking to the stage, she was the least serious. Which is her. Has not one serious bone in her little body. Jessie: We look forward to the day that this is your High School Graduating class. You keep up the wonderful heart warming personality that you have and believe it or not that will get you very far in life. You are the sweetest and funniest little girl I know. And we love you very much :)

My muscle man

Jaxon likes showing off his muscles! He also likes posing for the camera. :) He also likes to give waves!
