Did I mention?

Ive mentioned before I am not the best at staying organized. I can organize a closet, filing cabinet, bookshelf like no body's business, but the main problem I have had here lately is keeping it all organized. I blame it on my (self diagnosed) ADD! This is a 3 drawer plastic thing-a-ma-jig that i have just started throwing stuff in. Josh has his drawer for his personal business. Check stubs, court stuff, past tax info, work related paper work..etc. (hes boring) I have the 2nd drawer. Its full of folders for Jill and Jaxon.....Dr info, school info, important phone numbers, pens, all my projects that I need to get started on for Jaxon. My personal paperwork stuff, past tax stuff, pens, pictures, envelopes, pens...because I seem to collect them. The last draw is for Misc. (whoever that is) That one holds all the crap basically. Josh's guitar books, CD-Rs, burnt Cd's that aren't labeled and i have no clue whats on them. I think there was some hot wheels in there and tras

O my love will fly for you each night on angels wings...Godspeed...Sweet dreams. The rockets racers all tuckered out Superman's in pajamas on the couch... Goodnight Moon we'll find the mouse And I love you Godspeed little man...Sweet dreams little man O my love will fly to you each night on angels wings God bless mommy and hot wheels cars God bless daddy and thanks for the stars God hears "amen" where ever we are...And I love you Godspeed little man...Sweet dreams little man. O my love will fly for you each night on angels wings Godspeed...Sweet dreams!

Acting Out!!

Sometimes when he "acts out" (as I like to call it) I can't help but snag a few pictures. It's honestly very few and far between that he does act like this. I mean I wanted some recent photos and I had to back up to June just to find most of these. (O who am I kidding?? It's an every other day thing it seems, I just haven't taken that many pictures!) His pout is pitiful. His tears are huge. He wants a hug when he isn't getting his way...errr...he's sad. They say the best thing to do is ignore a toddlers fit throwing. That is their way of communication since they aren't speaking well and as long as they are not going to harm themselves the best thing to do is .... simply...walk away. Easier said than done if you are a mom like me. I feel bad. I want to cry. Sometimes laugh. I want to make it all better when I know there are things he needs to learn from. He has this "fake" whimper he does when...well...he isn't getting his way. I f

Flashback

I remember when he would just roll around on the floor...before he was walking. He got caught up in his blanket and it was the cutest thing ever. I thought he would win the cutest baby in the world photo contest for sure....but he hasn't...yet! :) A couple of weeks ago he had the same blanket and was walking around like this and it made me remember that one day...when he was 7 months old with 4 teeth in his mouth...not even talking yet. Happy Monday!!

...And the Dr said...

This poor monkey keeps jumping on the bed...but except bumping his head he is loosing limbs! Jaxon will pull his arms and legs out (they are the same thing really) and bring it to me or daddy and say "FIXXX IT!!". There were several different instances where the monkey needed to be fixed. It happens mostly at night when our monkey is supposed to be sleeping. He makes an emergency and gets to stay up that extra little bit. I may have to break the news to him and just tell him this monkey is going to be in the hospital for a while. After all how many times can you have your arms and legs broke off and live to tell about it? Happy Sunday!! :)

Mommy Merit Badges

FIRST AID BADGE: You never know when a boo-boo will strike. Playground, grocery store, Dr's office, front yard...you just never know. I have the typical "getcha cleaned up and back outside" kit in the bathroom, but I'm not the mom that carries the alcohol wipes, band-aids, gauze, Tylenol, OFF, or the key chain neosporin with me. I do however at this exact moment have a few Germ-X wipes in my purse only because we went to the petting zoo the other day and EWWW...zebra and donkey spit mixed with goat and cow snot is gross! Even if you are a farmers son! So I need to work on this badge. You can bet that if we were somewhere though I will snap a picture of said boo-boo!! LULLABY BADGE: "Tinkle tinkle little staaaar" is at the top of his list right now. But what about all the other ones? Itsy Bitsy Spider, Rock a bye baby..the list goes on. At any given moment I can burst out in song. (thank goodness these aren't given for vocal...cause I has NONE) I will a
When we first moved in I kept telling Josh and anyone who would listen that I wanted a red wall. A splash of red somewhere in the house. So I ended up with a red sink in the kitchen and that was OK with me! But i still longed for one of my living room walls to be red. So for my birthday...Josh got me a red wall! We painted it together last night. ( i guess fun things can emerge from a Tuesday!) 2 coats later..... I have a red wall. I can not wait to add the new "art" to the wall. I love this. I have never been handed a can of paint and a roller as a present...but I have to say this is something I will enjoy for a very loooong time!!

Tuesdays are so .... so...useless...

I really don't enjoy Tuesdays. They are that little waste of space in between the beginning of the week and the middle of the week. No one ever plans on doing anything on a Tuesday. You have lunch plans on Mondays to "get you thru the dreaded Monday!!" or the "lets do something Wednesday, its hump day!" Then of course you have your Friday plans. They kick off the weekend. For me, here as of late, all my days run together so everyday feels like a Tuesday to me. I have a mental list of to-dos. Tuesday is the day that Jaxons room gets the complete over haul. Bedding changed, clothes washed and put up, all his toys put up and organized, books back on the bookshelf. All for him to come home today and turn it all upside down. So much for an organized room for "hump day"! Last Tuesday I put his room cleaning off a day, so he was home to help me. Which by the way nothing really got done. His idea of helping me is doing things like in the picture over there.

Do you know what happens?

Do you know what happens when you turn 32? You get to enjoy your time with people you love and people you know love you. Me and Jaxon saw the wiener mobile in town today. We had our picture taken and got to take a tour! Saturday (as an early b-day treat) my sister Jennifer combined 2 of my favorite things : Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and cheesecake. All homemade!!! My mom got me this book that I cant seem to put down. I started reading it Saturday night and as of this afternoon I am already on chapter 16! I want to meet the author! Her and I would get along just fine hons!! Jennifer hooked me up with the newest scent from bath and body works... Dark Kiss ...love it. Didn't want to get out of the shower! :) The saying is true the older you get birthdays are just another day . That may be true for some people, but it isn't for anyone in our family. Although I know I am loved every day of the year on my birthday I feel even more loved. Even if I have to argue with my son ab

Fall is here....

As I have said before, we kick off fall with the Tri-State Fair Parade. Its a few hours of all of our locals parading down the street, throwing candy, waving at the kids. It brings the community together. Jennifer, Jessie and my mom waiting for the parade to start. It was the perfect weather. Not cool, rainy and cloudy like years past. Jaxons 2nd parade. Last year he slept thru most of it...this year he joined in the fun. Waving and yelling HI to everyone that passed by. He loved it! Happy Sunday!! :)

MY ADD..

I've diagnosed my self with the adult form of ADD. I'm not going to see a DR about it I will just have to live with it. See I have developed a very short attention span and can't seem to start what I finish only because I get distracted with something else. I start cleaning the living room and when I put something up in another room where it belongs I start cleaning that room next. Like if I put my shoes in my closet, instead of walking back to the living room to finish, I start cleaning out my closet. Go back to the living room to get the furniture polish so I can go ahead and dust my dresser in my room...only to stay in the living room and finish up in there, totally forgetting about the mess I have created in my bed room now! If I am cleaning the kitchen and have to walk out to my back room/laundry room to throw some trash I look at the pile of laundry...start some...clean up the back room a little...remember that the dog hasn't been feed...go feed him...see some tra

Joys of Motherhood 6

I have a love hate relationship with my hair right now. Its a mess. Takes to long for me to dry and straighten it, but yet i want to keep my long hair. The fact that the times I do wear makeup i wear the same makeup for 2 days. I wear shorts and t-shirts, I sleep in a shirt that I may run errands in the next day, I forget to drink anything all day...sometimes eat! I run in circles. I want to bang my head against the wall. At times. Somedays like I have posted before are better than others. Smooth sailing from the minute I get up. But when Jaxon wakes up fussy and in a bad mood...I know I am in for a looong day. Between him, keeping the spark with Josh, being in a mixed family and trying to find acceptance with the step kid, the bills, the housework, the cat and dog, my sanity...it can be a little much sometimes. I really need to take my own advice and keep taking that time out for me. Its another Joy of Motherhood that I wasn't really expecting but i wouldn't trade it for the w

Daddys shoes...

The saying "you have some big shoes to fill" comes lightly these days. Not everyone wants to follow in others steps. Others do. It doesn't surprise me when i see the kids doing things like this. Jessie did it when she was about 3...Jaxon doing it when hes almost 2. I have a picture of me doing it with my dads boots. Its a kid thing I guess. You do the things after the person you admire. Kinda like wanting to fill their shoes. This post is unrelated to shoes though. See a few weeks ago Josh ran to the store to get a few things. I told him to take Jaxon with him as I needed to get a few things done around the house since we were going to have company over. The look on his face was like i ask him to cut off his toe. "I'm just going to get a few things..ill be in and out." he says as hes making his way to the door. Of course knowing if i said the words go and store to Jaxon he would have ran in front of daddy wanting to leave. "SO!!!" i shrieked. &q

It's in the game

My uncle subscribes to ESPN magazine but doesn't read them. So they get sent over to my house, mainly to be thrown away but Josh will thumb thru it and toss it or Jaxon will get ahold of it and read the whole magazine. Or look at the pictures...either way... He has developed a love for football this year. Hes watched it since he was born so there for I think its just a natural thing for him to love. Plus we would really like to see him play the sport one day. Even if all he ever did was play a season of Pee-Wee football or went pro...we would love it. I love the fact that he acts as if he knows what all the words in the magazine say. And then he will tell me and daddy all about it. His personality and curiosity has bloomed even more just in the last month. Everyday is a new learning adventure with him and I couldn't be happier.

Sometimes I am organized

Because I have days where I seem to have it all together..the day runs a little smoother. Meaning the house is cleaned, the laundry is finished. Washed, folded, and actually hung up! I have 3 running notebooks at the present moment. One for daily/weekly/monthly to dos that holds appointments, important dates, phone numbers if i need to call anyone back...etc. The other is my "wedding planner". Contains everything wedding that is EEEK in a month! And I still have sooooo much to do! The other is for blogging ideas, recipes I find, things for the kids to do, upcoming projects i have noted and need to get started on. *sigh* I am messy at times and really don't think things thru. Even when there is hot wax involved. I have a Scentsy burner and wanted to put a different scent in there and well...some got on the table on the floor and my foot. I was to embarrassed to put my foot on here...i need a pedi! :( Play time with Jaxon was fun today. We played outside with the dog, h

An inspirational 90 minutes

I had 'naptime' to myself. If you are a mom you know what that means. It's like a persons 'lunchbreak' . You have so much time to get anything finished before your time is consumed again. For me 'naptime' is breathing room. To put it bluntly. Sometimes I nap. Sometimes I clean, blog, facebook, shower, make phone calls, or I sit. In complete silence and think of new dinner ideas, blog ideas, activities for the kids. But on this one particular day I watched a movie. I had run across it when looking for something else to watch so I recorded it. MOTHERHOOD . With Uma Thurman and Minnie Driver. It's not funny, It's not sad. I personally don't think Uma Thurman did a good job in this movie. But I watched it. And because of that movie it inspired me to take a time out. I literally sat there afterwards and thought.."that's me!..I'm her!...She's me!!..I do that!..I don't do that!..I'm a mess!!" She's a mom of 2. She'

He's a part of the family now....

There is a new show that premiered Sept. 6 on PBS that I was stoked about. The Cat in the Hat Knows all about That! I just knew Jaxon would love it. Although I am against using TV as a babysitter and by the way I don't, it is OK that he has his 3 favorite shows and we have a DVR and I can spread them out thru the day. Between breakfast, our play time, lunch, naps, dancing, coloring, playing outside, dinner, more playing, and bath time...he has an hour and a half of TV a day...and they are all educational shows. Which I love as well. So he spent the first part of his morning checking out the new show. I wish I could lounge on the couch like this. And this...this is how I spent the first part of my morning. I cleaned house and listened to Jaxon laugh and come in the kitchen to jibber and jabber about his new show. It was sweet. When daddy came home he wanted to check out the new show with Jaxon. And this time Cat in the Hat joined in...you know...to watch his own show :) He has alw

Wheres the Beef?

We eat alot of beef. Actually this family eats alot of chicken too. It just seems like this week was the week for beef. Slow cooker lasagna one night. Which goes great with a salad and/or garlic bread. A nice glass of red wine helps too! :) This has become a household favorite. Enchilada casserole. Served with salsa and chips on the side. It is very good. Adding the corn is optional. I have a new twist on an old house hold favorite. Italian style meatloaf. This is also another favorite. You can serve it with just about any vegetable or even a side salad. Either way is good! I think this week I will try to make more pork dishes!! Happy Labor Day!!

A stalker...

I HAS ONE! Everyday this summer this bird will sit on the air conditioner and either stare in or peck the window. Scares the living day lights out of me every time and really gets Annie going crazy. Takes on a whole new meaning to a "peeping tom "

Thats how he rolls....

He not only is sitting at the table. In a chair. Eating with us big people. But he eats like this.... With 2 hands and a foot. We always knew he was part monkey, but really had no idea it would come to this!
