The Treat of the Trade

It was summer 2002...I was on the hunt for a pair of denim shorts. I went to Old Navy first not expecting to find anything since I really don't care for how their jeans fit me. I found a good, comfortable pair. Not to short not to long....just right. I have worn these jeans every summer since..I have bought other shorts that just didn't match the comfort level of these. I have officially worn these out...8 years later. Right below the right back pocket they ripped the other night and the sad thing is...I didn't know... that's how stretched out and worn out they already were. I wonder if Old Navy still has this style and would let me exchange them???

We have a routine I don't want to break. He takes a nap at the same time everyday. His naps are about 2 hours. He wakes up refreshed and ready to take on the rest of the day. He is getting 2 more teeth in so i had to get his favorite..M&Ms!! I already had the popcorn made and juice in the fridge getting cold for whenever he woke up. He loves waking up to surprises! Those are the best ways to wake up from a nap!

Jaxon had his first try at Aggie Golf at one of his friends birthday parties. He didn't get the concept at first but once I showed him how it was done...well...let's just say his daddy may have to make him an Aggie Golf game! He loved it! If you have never played, its really quit simple. And fun! He got is friend in on the action too. The two of them played for what seemed like for.ev.er! Glad it was in the shade and all you can drink kool aid was on tap for the guys! It was a hot day but a good day at the mini Aggie Golf course! :)

The local Don Harrington Discovery Center focuses on all things fun and educational! Jaxons first trip there was nothing short of a great time for his curious mind. Here he is at a display that lets you hear what noises your body makes. And all though silly....he loved the noises that are ... well...not so silly if you are making them! But there's something about boys and farting noises!! This was the ball of electricity. Thought he would have been a little timid...it's in a darker corner and looks like it would shock you...but NO...not him...went right up and touched it with no problem. I love the way he would just climb up on a stool and be hands on. The object of this exhibit is to keep anything on the big silver thing....its constantly spinning and you have to figure out where to put it to keep it spinning as well. He loved it. Was at this one for a while. He was so proud of himself in this picture. They have a house set up for smaller kids and he would walk up and down

Some days his eating habits are better than others. Now that he isn't eating out of a jar anymore I have been having alot of fun on what to come up with next for his menus. He loves loves loves vegetables. Loves pasta...doesn't really care for chips or any type of dipping sauce. So its not that hard most days to come up with the little concoctions that i do. But then there are the days that all he wants are his M&Ms...fruit loops and an apple. I take the bad with the good and let him have days like that because well they are few and far between and when he eats as good as he does most days....he can have his fill of fruit loops and M&Ms!!

I couldn't have been more blessed than I am to have someone like Josh in my life. I saw what kind of father he was way before Jaxon was born. Jaxon too is very blessed to have a dad like Josh. Josh and his girls. He is patient and understanding...and I know these girls will not ever have to worry about anything as long as Josh is there dad! Me and my Father. He was patient and understanding. He was always there when I needed him. He taught me alot. I miss our talks. I miss laughing and cutting up with him. I miss him. Happy Fathers Day!!!!

His aunt Christy found him the cutest chair at a garage sale. It sings...he claps...it says the ABC's...he claps....it has animal noises...he copies them... He loves his new chair! The best things in life make him so happy!!

The brownies are in the oven. Now what? I teach him to lick the bowl clean that's what!! There you go get the spoon full of the batter too! YUMM! And he shares with momma!! Hes sweet...all the way around!! :)

I bought a 2 year subscription to Food Network Magazine....and I hold my breathe until it arrives each month! And in this economy fail this country is in...I tab my favs...write them down and hand the magazine down to my little sister...she gets her favs out and then hands it down to our mom. We all win! Its a great magazine....I have started making new things for lunches and dinners and everyone is happy that I am out of the rut of making the same ol same ol! Come on July and get here....cant wait to see what I can cook up next!!!

My son has to taking a liking...well I should say a loving to peanut butter. By the spoon, by the handful, dipping whatever he can it... he LOVES it. I couldn't resist this picture. Because when he is covered in something...guess what? Half of the kitchen is, the cat is, I am. So I had to take this before the camera took a peanut butter bath!

I really have NO idea why i let these girls talk me into the things they do! And i still do it and hand them the camera to document it! They can get away with it...they are young...not a care in the world....but then i wondered ....Are we the only ones that eat our popsicle backwards? We all love the summer...the warm breeze blowing our hair...sun kissed faces...lazy days at the pool...eating ice cream on the porch....we love it! We are silly...we are goofy...we come up with random things! and if you don't..then we salute you! with our tongues out!!

Jessie lost her fist tooth June 5th! She was excited! It had been loose for a few days and when we were at the amusement park it came out...on a ride she hated of all places. But she managed to hang on to the tooth place it under her pillow and here she is showing her empty space and what the tooth fairy left her!

Jessie got a new bubble blower. Its a little bee and really cute! Almost an hour went by blowing bubbles ..... until the sound of the summer that all kids love to hear...... The ICE CREAM TRUCK !!! " i have been blowing bubbles a long time and really deserve an ice cream!" says Jessie. I cant say no to her!!

my cat is the laziest when its hot out. she tries to find comfort in the window and sometimes its not enough. because the birds keep her awake. at least she can get some ab exercises in while napping!

When i am just too busy i call in my answering service to help out. He ignores the calls i have no desire to answer and hangs up on the ones i want to talk to. But for cheap labor i cant beat it..i pay him in goldfish and juice or bananas and milk just whatever he prefers! So telemarketers beware...you may have to talk to a babbling 1 yr old in order to sell me that cruise when i buy a year subscription to dish network!

Summer time is all about playing in the water...whether it be a longer bath....playing with water balloons, water guns, in the sprinkler...or at the pool...some form of water has to be played with. And then there is some that keep their distance from the water. He was just soaking up the rays. I catch them doing the funniest things. One day they will hate me for that and then they will think its funny again. Summer time is about letting your hair down and having a blast..or pulling your hair up and jumping in!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Jason and Jennifer!!! The late night group .... which behaves nicely might i add :) Yes there was some fun for the little ones!!.....Same time next year with the same birthday folks!!!

Josh has been working hard at getting our back yard in better shape than it has probably ever seen. Jaxon helps when he can. Checking and making sure daddy is doing it all right. I think Jaxon was telling him that he missed a spot...or maybe he had dirt in his shoes...I don't remember! "Well dad looks good...get that grass planted so I have somewhere else to play!"

Concentration only happens when you stick your tongue out! Went to a BBQ on Memorial Day and Jaxon made a friend. They kept watching everyone open the beer cooler and yet no one would let them in it..... So they figured out how to get into the other cooler with cokes and water....but more importantly the ice! Because that is really all they were after!!! Boys and their ice chest!!

... not a worry in the world a cold cuppie in my hand. Went to the pool for the first time this summer on Memorial Day. He wasnt up for the swimming part or even floating around...so he sat pool side... Not a worry in the world ~ Life is good today!! Adios and Vaya Con Dios!!!
