The Johnson Family ~ A year in review part 2

Jaxon had his last day at his sitters. He was upset that we showed up to his party. It was a sad day for me. He had been going to the same house every morning since he was 7 weeks old.

He became more comfortable riding his bike this summer. As long as daddy didn't let go....we were OK!

Our good friend Dwight hosted his 3rd annual backyard bash. Adults only. Good times and Good food!

My little sister married her best friend!

The corn maze! September 2012! All of us minus Jill

S'more makin on Aunt Jennifer and Uncle Tim's porch!

 Jessie started fall soccer!

Jill's first concert of the year

Pumpkin patch. My favorite thing to do in the fall.

I'm still learning to be more patient with these 2!

We adopted a new puppy...or he adopted us! October 2012 Josh went to work and this dog we call Jo-Jo came home with him.

 Jessie turned 8.

 Jaxon turned 4.

We have plans on building a hot wheel room to accommodate the 150 and
counting that he has. Just kidding....momma is getting a new laundry room and a new bathroom in 2013!
We visited Santa. Promised to be a good boy but all 4 year old boys have their moments.

 Jill's Winter Concert!

And last but not least....Java and Jo-Jo became friends instantly in October. And by that I mean she was pregnant his first week home. We welcomed her first litter of 6 on 12-21-12. So glad the world didn't end and we can enjoy these little guys and gals.

I really plan on 2013 being my year. The year that I stop putting my life on hold and stop focusing all the energy on the girls moms and their schedules. I have developed Alopecia Areata and I am going to start a new blog about that in the next month or so. I am glad this year is almost over. Its been a very stressful one. I am excited to ring in the new year with my family. I hope this next year for me includes but not limited to: Road trips with the sister. More of me taking care of me. More one-on-one time with the husband. A longer family vacation this summer. To make sure the kids are creating good memories. To stop stressing and living in the now. To be a better mom and step-mom. To know that it is OK if we eat ice cream 20 minutes before dinner. To start living a healthier life style without being anal about it. Yes I would love to be a size 2, but very thankful my heredity has big bones and for me a healthy size 10 is sexier. To accept my alopecia and stop hiding under ball caps. And to treat myself to pedis and massages again!!

The torture. The madness

I try. I try to make food last. I try to stick to a grocery budget and sometimes ( more than I'd like) I fail. I'm slowly getting better at buying the important stuff in bulk. Our main meats. Beef. Chicken. Pork. I can stretch that out for months. The big things of Sunny D last about 3 weeks....etc you get the idea. The worst thing I could possibly do is go to Sams on a Saturday afternoon. WHY?? WHY do I do that to myself? It's not like I'm that busy Monday thru Friday! O well lesson learned. When I do go back it will be on a Tuesday morning....a few months from now!

I do it

Since he could talk he has had a certain Independence about him. "I do it". I loved it when his little voice would say those words. Even though he sometimes had no clue what he was doing. Or he wanted to lend a helping hand with me, I have always admired that he was a hands on learner .     Now that he is 4 he really doesn't need much help getting dressed. I still stay present just in case he needs my help. "I do it all by myself" are the words he says now. It makes me a little sad that he doesn't need me for everything now.     "I'm hungry" are words I hear alot from him. So I tell him find something to eat and I will help you make it. I let him put the snack ideas together. He can open the fridge. He can open the pantry. So he can grab whatever his little heart desires.     Here he is with minimal help from me making a peanut butter sandwich. "Watch me mom" are the words I hear when he does something a...

Johnson Family 2013 ~ Year Review Part 1

This has been a great year of change, growth and accomplishments. Jaxon turned 5 this year and started Pre-K. Jessie is in the 3rd grade and she turned 9 this year. Jill turned 12 and is greatly enjoying the 7th grade. Him and Jessie love doing crafts at the table. Paint, color, draw, cut and paste! They are defiantly my busy bodies!    This was the year for wild and wacky hair. Jessie went purple at the beginning of Jan. They chose crazy hair as a reward for staying on the A or A/B Honor Roll. They are now back to their original colors and, even though the wacky colors were fun and exciting, I am glad they are back to their roots :)    I had spent hours in 2012 on Pintrest. And one of my Resolutions were to start putting my pins to use! I have the girls bookshelf a makeover. And even pinned my own work on Pintrest!    I became "public" about my Alopecia. Only family and very few friends knew of my new condition. And once ...
