The bug. The flu. The germs.....

i do everything in my power to keep this house germ free. Lysol. clorox wipes. I wash bedding in hot water. i exhaust myself deep cleaning the house 2 days a week. YES you read that right. 2 days a week. i try my hardest to keep the kids in a little bubble of well during the cold and flu season and up until this year we have gone 4 years with NO flu! but Jaxon was hit with a 12 hour stomach bug a few weeks back that sent him home from school and came with a low grade fever. after a quick run to the local pharmacy, lots of rest, soup and crackers, plenty of fluids he was himself again. 12 hours that thing lasted and we kicked its butt outta here. 3 weeks later i get a fever of 102.5. came with body aches, bone chilling chills and weakness. a cool shower, plenty of Tylenol and fluids later i was done with what lasted an eternity in my mind, only lasted 12 hours. so i convinced myself that had I only deep cleaned the house once a week we would have 24 hour bugs, but i do it twice a week and that nasty bug sticks around for 12 :) i have strange conversations with myself. unfortunately Jaxon caught the bug on Friday night. fever, chills, weakness and congestion. so i loaded him up with medicine and put a cold rag on his head and he slept for 11 hours. his congestion is still there, but i think the flu didn't stand a chance hanging around. Even Jessie had a headache and the beginning of a sore throat and we knocked that outta here as well. so, both kids are at school. (cause i like perfect attendance) but they aren't contagious. they are well and i hope the bug stays away for another 4 years or more. ill up the cleaning and start doing 3 days a week. work hard so we can play hard. keep bugs at bay so we can all be well.

Happy Monday and you be well!!

He's making a list....

The BIG TOY BOOKS arrived in the newspaper a few weeks ago. Let's just say he knows how to catalog shop! He knew what pages to go to that had toys for him. Anything Spiderman is topping his list right now. He will sit and watch the Spiderman movie and not move. Not the cartoon either...the movie with Toby Maguire. He would come across the pages that had the barbies and doll houses and anything pink and point at them and yell "JESSIE!!" So I am glad he knows what she likes because she changes her mind every 5 minutes. We will be shopping soon and from the very worn out toy book he has carried with him for the past few weeks now. He points at 3 things every time he opens the book from Wal-Mart...so i know he means business. And the 50" flat screen that he points at and yells "DAAAADDDY" well sorry for your luck son.

LOOK! LISTEN!

He looks so big sitting on this little truck. The little truck that plays the most annoying music in the house. I am a weird mom! I refuse to remove any batteries from any toy that we buy him or that he receives as a gift. They are musical and educational and he loves to dance to the songs. So I will not take that from him....but its still annoying nonetheless.... Anyway...I am so proud of how fast he learns to do everything and that he is as independent as his little self can be. He loves to listen to the 2 songs on this little truck. Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Do You Know the Muffin Man are constantly playing. He is a big boy now. He isn't my little baby bundled up anymore......

Happy Birthday!

My little sister is 35 years young today!  Happy Happy Birthday to the best little sister I could ask for! Love you!
