Whos ready for school to start?!

I AM!!!!! this is school supplies only. We haven't ventured off to do the O so fun school clothes shopping.   Our little man will be in a head start program this year. He was a planned child and i didn't even think of school and how his birthday falling so late in the year would have effected him :) It saddens me that he will wear this backpack and take his lunch and wear a size bigger shoe. And he will be away from me for 7 hours 3 days a week. But i will manage. I hope i don't find myself circling the block of his school on the days i am really tired of the quiet. Those words just fell out of my mouth. Tired of quiet? It must have been a noisy day around here.   Our sweet little Jessie will enter the new world of 2nd grade. There are way more supplies in that bag. I used my bed to hold all this while taking photos, and well my bed isn't *that* big. She is all about Smurfs and bright colors and being a little girly girl. I worry about her alot. Her school ...

Another HOT summer

We have had another  HOT summer! We stay in the air conditioned house most of the time (well...i do anyway) We drink plenty of water and juice....Me and daddy cool down with a COLD beer at the end of the HOT days. I'm ready for the crisp air that fall brings. I'm ready for pulling on a sweater when I need to run to the store. I will be glad when I can actually do more outside than just pour sweat. But until then I know where all the COLD drinks are! HAPPY SATURDAY!

Swimmin and fish fryin

My family doesn't live near the ocean. We live in the middle of the driest part of Texas. But! We all enjoy seafood and when the occasion arises well.....we have a fish fry!!   We eat and gather. And honestly i don't care what we eat just as long as we always gather and create memories together. Anything for the kids to get to swim and soak up sun and beat the 105 degree heat. I'm also all about that too!! HAPPY SUNDAY!!

Infused Vodka and the thoughts that were never words....

My husband. He had an idea. So he left the house on an "errand". Came back with some vodka, pears, and jalapeno peppers. Started searching for my mason jars. I thought to myself.... "I didn't see this on Pintrest..."   He cut the pear and pepper up. Secured the lid.   Gave it a good shake and told me that it will set in the fridge for a few days. "OK...." I say. Finished product. And my husband who was kind of annoyed i was taking pictures of this....i thought... "Well you did buy me this bad ass camera and since we met i have taken pictures of everything, so.....and again i haven't seen Pintrest use mason jars like this.....but i will roll with it." a few days later we had infused vodka. and i do have to say that pear and pepper vodka is actually pretty good and since i told my husband.... " this is actually OK!" he set off on more errands and we have had mango infused vodka (which was good in orange soda)...

4th of July 2012

Loaded up for a day at a local park. Complete with a funnel cake and a fried snickers.   I love random moments. and i dont always have my camera ready or them. This time I did, and i caught Java dancing with a friendly random stranger.   Sweet little Jessie Mae. She is growing up way to fast.   Daddy and Jaxon waiting on the show to start. And another thing we love about summer is fireworks in July. Happy Friday!!

Lovin the Summer Nights

Daddy gets 14 days off a month. So we really try to make the best of those days when he is home. I have NEVER been to a firework stand. Never have i bought fireworks. Never have i blown them up in my front yard! Shh....   The kids loved the sparklers. They have no fear of anything that can ignite a fire at any moment.   I love this photo of Jaxon. Its everything that is supposed to be a summer night in July to me. Its about seeing the wonder in those small eyes that bring me great joy.   We did this with the kids a few days before the 4th of July. Why limit fireworks to one day anyway? Watching. loving. making memories. being in ahhh. I love summer nights!

Its over....

All the practices. Her being goalie the first half of the games. Her # 2 shirt is now retired. Soccer cleats get pushed to the back of the closet. And we don't have anything to do for an hour and 15 minutes every Saturday and Sunday.   The heat is one thing that Jessie cant stand to be a part of. Its ok in the beginning, but once this girl gets hot, well its all over basically. I am however glad that the season ended before the 100 + temps set in. and believe me they set in just a few days later. That's why I was happy it was over. Sad because she has nothing to look forward to now. Shes happy its over because she wont have to run around in the sun. Shes sad its over because we don't have any where to go now. She had a good size team in the beginning. But with the summer days setting in and vacations taking priority this was the last team players of the season. They were a good group of kids that had such an eagerness about all things soccer. Until next time...
